In a thrilling Cup encounter at The Ron Rossin Ground, Paviors RFC Horns showcased their determination and skill, securing a decisive victory over Gainsborough 2nds with a final score of 38-7. The stakes were high in this one-shot opportunity to progress to the next round of the Cup, and the Horns did not disappoint their home crowd.

The match kicked off with Gainsborough drawing first blood, breaking through the Horns' defence to notch up the opening try of the game. However, the Horns quickly retaliated, demonstrating their prowess in set pieces as N. Clarke powered over the try line from a well-executed rolling maul, leveling the score and setting the tone for a fiercely contested encounter.

As the second half commenced, the Horns unleashed a relentless offensive onslaught, determined to secure their advancement in the Cup. L. Naylor ignited the crowd's fervor with a brilliant try, courtesy of an inspired play by L. Charity, who deftly sidestepped two defenders before offloading to Naylor for the score.

The Horns continued to dominate proceedings, with J. Goodwin who capitalized on a cross-field kick from a penalty to saunter over the try line, extending the lead with ease. 

L. Charity further bolstered the Horns' advantage, showcasing his elusive footwork to breach the Gainsborough defense and dive across the try line, much to the delight of the home supporters.

Not to be outdone, J. Goodwin once again showcased his attacking prowess, evading numerous tackles and shrugging off opposition players to touch down for his second try of the match, further cementing the Horns' superiority on the field.

However, amidst the Horns' commanding performance, disciplinary issues arose, with J. Bradley and N. Clarke each receiving yellow cards for their respective infractions. Nevertheless, the Horns maintained their composure and focus, determined to emerge victorious in this crucial Cup encounter.

As the final whistle blew, the Horns emerged triumphant, with I. Robinson earning the accolade of Man of the Match as selected by Gainsborough, highlighting his impactful contributions throughout the game. Conversely, J. McCarten was awarded the dubious honour of DOTD, emblematic of the fierce competitiveness and spirited exchanges witnessed on the field.

With their resounding victory, Paviors RFC Horns advance to the next round of the Cup, their relentless determination and collective effort propelling them one step closer to Cup glory.
